Health Tip #20: Powerwalking your way to fitness

In Health Tip #10 I mentioned the easiest way to lose weight: to walk.
Want to take it a step further?
Start powerwalking!

What's powerwalking, you say?
It's when you walk with a speed like you're in a hurry. Like when you drop your 1 billion-dollar bill and just realize it - but you don't want to run to get it because people would suspect ...
You get my point.

I powerwalk up to six times a week, around 30 minutes per session. And this is enough for me to stay fit.
Recommendations are to walk 30 minutes every day to keep the heart active. Just imagine if you start powerwalking instead.
It's less sweaty than running (for some, like me, no sweat at all) and it's much more effective than just regular walking.
Ever since I've started it I feel more energized on a daily basis!

Best of all is that you don't need a gym card!
Just bring your iPod and start powerwalking pathways in your neighbourhood you wouldn't normally do.
Exploring your home town plus burning calories. Now that's being healthy in more than one way!

I started a powerwalking group in my neighborhood recently, and if you do it right, it really works!
I'd wake up the next morning svelte as hell, abs all the way IN! ;)

It's also a great tool to get more obese and heavier people into some activity. Most are afraid or unable at that point to do more strenuous exercise. Also good for older people.
You can get a grandma powerwalking, and it will be great for her! ;)
