I never chew gum unless it's a fluorinated chewing gum. It seems to be only sugar in the regular gums, but these days there are so many flavors to choose from of the fluorinated chewing gums anyway.
Mint, apple, strawberry ...
For best effect, take them whenever you have eaten something that contains lots of sugar, or when you know you won't brush your teeth for a long time. But don't chew on one too long because you swallow air when you do this which either makes you burp or having gases.
Health Tip #28: Start using fluoride chewing gum after eating sugar

I like a lot of your other tips to a healthy lifestyle, but #28 seems to have a major problem with it. Fluoride is a dangerous poison that you don't want in your water, in your toothpaste, in your chewing gum, or in anything that goes in to your body. It's plain and simple a poison that destroys health. I know this has been a big controversy for a while, but lately even a lot of the pro-fluoride dental people are waking up to the truth and switching sides. I encourage you to do your own research on this. You'll be shocked at what you find. Do a google search on the dangers of fluoride.

Hey!
Thanks for commenting. I had no idea of this at all.
I did some googling, as you said, and I found contradicting information.
In one study the results showed that even a minimal dose of fluoride can be harmful - while other information I found said it's dangerous if a 1-yr-old ingests 1-3 fluoride toothpaste tubes or 200-600 fluoride pills at once.
Ingesting a big amount of anything - wether it be fluoride, fries, broccoli, bananas etc - is always unhealthy. Moderation is always something to strive for.
I had a teacher who told this story about a friend that loved paprika and had several of those one evening - he ended up in hospital!
I do agree with not having it in your drinking water. The studies Dr. Masaru Emoto made showed that water chrystals were deformed or not formed at all when there was fluoride in it!
I've done some more googling and thinking and I have come up with the conclusion that one should Not use fluoride chewing gums...
It is a poison, indeed.
I will still have this tip here so people can read both sides of it though.
Josiah, thanks for enlighten me!
