"If you don't enjoy the journey, you'll probably be disappointed with the destination. In life, we never actually arrive anywhere final. Life is the journey, so it's vital to know how to enjoy it." (Habit Guide, p 19) I just read Mike Kinnaird's health ebook Habit Guide, which is a complete guide to a healthy lifestyle. It shares the same motto as my blog; through small changes - step by step - you have the power to change your current state of health into a better state of health. The only thing you have to do is to be determined and wanting to get a better health. Habit Guide tells you specifically how to do it.
With its 100 pages, the book lays out an easy foundation of the steps into a healthier lifestyle that anyone can adapt. This is also one of the better things about this book - it's easy to read, use and navigate through and it's suitable for anyone who wants better health.
Throughout the book, Mike Kinnaird tells you how to break those bad habits of yours that ruins your health so you can achieve (or create) those big health goals of yours. Step by step.
"Although we want it all now, one step at a time is the way to overcome seemingly insurmountable problems. Like climing the proverbial mountain, only one step can be taken any one time." (Habit Guide, p 48)
"Understand the nature of habit"
My favorite part of the book is "Understand the nature of habit" which brings up the real reason (deep down) behind our habits (good or bad). That part actually gave me a few "Aha!"-moments as it brought up things I knew about (but that I never really gave any thought to) in a new light.
"Just tell me what to do!"
Another part I liked very much was the part "Just tell me what do to!". In a quick and motivational way, Mike lists a bunch of easy do-able health tips along with inspiring pictures that you can apply immediately in order to enjoy a healthier lifestyle.
"The Habit Guide Diet"
The book also contains a chapter called "The Habit Guide Diet" which is all about losing weight in a healthy way. It gives you suggestions on what to eat, and how to prepare it. The diet comes across effective and both easy to adapt and maintain.
"We create our own reality"
Although the term is never used in the book, a lot of tips practise the law of attraction.
"As you start to take action to positively change your life, you'll attract new circumstances as if by magic. The world reflects back to us what we give out and so we create our own reality. The point is that you don't have to worry if your vision of the future is a bit hazy. As you start to move forward, it will become clearer and clearer all the time. The important thing is to start moving forward." (Habit Guide, p 20)
Final words
You can tell that the person behind the book has life experience. What I like about Habit Guide is that it's written by a person who knows about both good and bad health. When Mike Kinnaird writes "I love my salad these days but initially it was a struggle. I've found that people generally like what they know, what they're use to having." (Habit Guide, p 90) I couldn't agree more. I can relate as I have been in the same situation.
The book covers the biggest part of life - health - and it is targeted for people who wants to create a better health situation for themself, wether you already have a good health or not.
As "Health Tip #80" I do recommend this health ebook.
